Happy Resurrection Day!

This picture pretty much sums up our family Easter Egg Hunt. The children race to find eggs stuffed with money. Some eggs contain quarters and some have as much as $20 inside them. When I shared our Easter Egg Hunt tradition with Joey's family, they thought it would be nice to stuff Easter Eggs with money and have an Easter Egg Hunt at Christmas Time:) I'm ending tonight remembering that Jesus is alive! What a wonderful day today with family after celebrating the resurrection of my Lord at church today.

Blog Stalking?

I just spent the past two hours "blog stalking" as Emily calls it:) After looking at several other photographer's websites, I began to realize what an amazing gift God has blessed Emily and I with. We started out taking tons of photos of our children and one willing senior, just so we could have "portfolio" pictures. Well, here we are, two years later, with several weddings under our belt, just bought new cameras for the second time, and we have a "real" website! I am not writing this out of conceit, but totally giving all of the glory back to God for what a great work he has done with my life. If you know me, I am not the most confident person in the world. Through out this journey I call, "becoming the photographer God has called me to be," I sit back from time to time and say, "Okay God, if this is what you want me to be, I'll do it, but MAN AM I SCARED! I teach my 84 6th graders that they can be anything God has called them to be......."Dream Big!" is what I always tell them. It wasn't until recently that I realized the importance of Paul's words in Philippians, "I can do ALL things through Christ Jesus who strengthens me." I believe those words and I believe that Emily and I will go wherever God leads us in our amazing world of capturing those still moments that people remember forever!

Senior Pictures x2

If you ever see us show up to a shoot without a cup of coffee in our hand, you may want to direct us to the nearest Starbucks! The Smith girls learned that we can be a little silly without our caffeine fix, or when out blood sugar gets low! Luckily, Hannah and Rachael know me in "real life" and how boring I normally am. We were, of course, able to capture some great moments in-between the laughter.

March E-Sessions

This past month we had the honor of working with two fabulous couples. I love walking away from photo shoots full of laughter and smiles! Both of these couples knew how to cut loose and have fun.

Patrick and Sarah were natural models. They never needed any instructions or special posing directions. We would point out a location, and they seemed to fall into place every time! They were great sports, even when the wind seemed to take control.

Lieselot and Rob drove down from Venice and met us downtown. They are actually planning two weddings...one here, and one in Belgium a couple weeks later. This couple was up for anything...climbing trees...walking down stinky alleys...posing with a strange cat! Needless to say, we all had a lot of fun.
